The Station Kitchen

A provincially inspected, shared commercial kitchen space available to rent in 5 hour blocks, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. We currently have 600 square feet of workspace with facilities for cooking, baking, food prep, and dishwashing. We have cold and dry storage space available at extra costs to our rental customers. Kitchen Rental Rates​

One time rental: $175.00 + tax

Minimum 5 hour blocks

1:00 am - 6:00 am : $87.50 + tax

7:00 am - 12:00 pm : $125.00 + tax

1:00 pm - 6:00 pm : $125.00 + tax

7:00 pm - 12:00 am : $100.00 + tax

If you book a double block you have the time between the blocks included

$200.00 deposit and $60.00 orientation fee applies to all rentals

Getting Started!

Step 1:

Come visit us!

                   and set up a time to come tour The Station to see the kitchen in real life and we can answer any questions you might have!

Step 2: 


There is some documentation we’ll need to cover before you get cooking. All our customers need proof of the following:


  • Certified Food Handlers Certificate. Learn more about approved certifications

  • Proof of liability insurance (minimum coverage of $1,000,000 with The Station Food Hub Ltd. named as Additional Insured)

  • Your own business permits/licenses and we can help you navigate this process with Nova Scotia Environment (  The planning for foodservice document called the Guide to opening a food establishment is on the retailers page.  Other pertinent information is also there.

Step 3:

Sign Up

In addition to certification and insurance, you will need to sign a rental agreement with The Station Kitchen after discussing which package is best for you. Check out our rates above! 


Also when signing your rental agreement, a refundable deposit is required. This deposit will cover any incidental damage to the Hub appliances and equipment or excessive clean up costs, and will be returned to you at the end of your contract should your time be free of any repairs or cleaning costs.

Step 4:

Schedule time

Once everything is signed, you are booked in for a safety and sanitation orientation.


After you meet all the requirements, finished the paperwork, and paid for your time you can schedule in your time. 

Reservations are filled on a first come first served basis.

What is The Station Kitchen?

We are a provincially inspected shared commercial kitchen space available to rent 7 days a week. We currently have 1,000 square feet of workspace with facilities for cooking, baking, food prep, dish washing, as well as cold and dry storage space available to our rental customers!

Can I rent commercial space from The Station?

Yes! We have multiple rental and leasing options available. The Station Kitchen is commercially inspected and can be rented out in 5 hours blocks. We also have long-term leasing options available. Message us today to find out more!

What other equipment is available to rent? What do you supply?

Our commercial kitchen is equiped with everything (we hope!) to get your job done. Here is the list of equipment that is available to rent at an additional charge! Rational Combi Oven Dough Sheeter Sealing Machine Blast Freezer We provide all manners of shelving, storage racks, major cooking appliances, and cleaning chemicals. Members are responsible for their own smallwares, utensils, containers, etc. that they need to prep, cook, and package their food products.

Do I have to be a food business to work at The Station

No! We are an all-inclusive work space and welcome all small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs to rent out our spaces. This includes shared workspaces, boardroom rentals, advisory services and more.

What is required to Join?

You require a Nova Scotia Business License along with an approved Food Safety Plan plus liability insurance. During your initial meeting/tour, we’ll be happy to discuss the application process in greater detail with you.

Can I just rent freezer, cooler, or storage space?

Yes, please contact us for your specific needs. Based on availability.
