ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

The Station Food Hub, also known as “The Hub”, is a vertically integrated agri-food, food & beverage innovation centre located in the former Newport Station Elementary School, at 1989 Wentworth Road, Newport Station, Nova Scotia.

The Hub was founded in 2018 in response to the growing institutional and retail demand for local agri-food and value-added food & beverage products. The Hub will offer Nova Scotian food & beverage entrepreneurs and businesses over 17,000 square feet of rentable commercial kitchen space, including a commercially inspected kitchen, dry, cold & frozen storage, value-added processing equipment and ten long-term leasable commercial units.

Our Mission is to provide a feasible and affordable processing infrastructure for local entrepreneurs, with product development capabilities and route to market networks, which have traditionally held back the development of Nova Scotia’s local food ecosystem.

The Station Food Hub Ltd. is located within the former Newport Sation District Elementary School and strategically located twenty minutes from the Halifax Regional Municipality and twenty minutes from Annapolis Valley, connecting a market of 400,000 people to the most fertile growing land in Atlantic Canada.
